Big Problems, Simple Solutions
Personal Interaction round is going on and I am getting good responses from Subscribers. We, all, want to contribute towards social welfare and ready to denote some of our time for the social activities. But, we don't know "what to do and how to do."
There are a number of ways to contribute towards social welfare. But I am describing here, some of the ways that already get implemented by somebody.
1. These days, most of us have some house servant or maid in our homes. If, we convince our mothers to teach them just half an hour once or twice in a week, then they may become able to read or write and even more.
2. We can also try to teach the poor children of our locality in weekends and also make aware their parents to use the various facilities provided by Govt., say free education.
3. We can teach the guards, cleaners and other housekeeping boys at our work place also. But for this, we need the support and permission of our company. Give this idea to your HR people.
4. Try to locate a govt. school or a low profile school (where poor children are going) in or nearby your locality. You can teach or interact with the students and can increase their morale. It gives a lot of happiness to them that some "Software Engineer or a Professional" is coming to teach them. You can set the timing according to your convenience.
5. Try to locate a govt. school in your nearby locality where poor children can get free education.
6. Interact with rickshaw pullers, press-walas, & house-maid and ask them for the children in their locality who are not going school. If possible, go to their locality with one of them and try to convince people who are not sending their children to school.
Last but not the least, motivate others to do the same or make others aware of these things.
Everybody has some constraint at their end, but you all know "Where there is a will, there is a way".
I would like to share constraint of one of my friend and reader, Divya. At present she is residing at Bangalore and has language barrier while interacting with poor people.
I think, Divya, can go for first and fourth way to contribute towards social welfare. She can interact with her neighbors and make them convenience for teaching their house maids and even she, herself can teach English in a govt. school or low-profile school.
At my part, last weekend, on Valentine's Day, I finally able to get admission for three poor children in a govt. school. Inderpreet, working in MediaTek, helped me that day in this noble activity.
Check the attached excel sheet and their pics for maintaining database, so that we can trace their performance.
Headlines Today Personal Interaction round will soon over and probably from next week, I will tell you about the combined efforts that we should make to eradicate illiteracy from our country.
Please, feel proud of whatever you are doing, it's our country and only we are responsible to make a difference here.
We, is incomplete without, "you".
So, please give me your support and co-operation so that, We can make a difference.
Thanks
